At Compassionate Voice Counseling, we believe therapy should be both high-quality and accessible. We offer therapy, EMDR intensives, and specialized neurodivergent-affirming assessments for adults across North Carolina.

Insurance Accepted

Our therapy services are covered and in-network with:

• Most Blue Cross Blue Shield plans
• Most Aetna plans
• NC State Health Plan

We also support out-of-network reimbursement through Thrizer and Reimbursify.

Self-Pay Services & Rates

Associate Clinicians

• Standard Rate: $140/session
• Limited reduced-rate spots available between $100–$140 based on financial need and clinician availability

Fully Licensed Clinicians

• $160–$200/session depending on specialization and service type

Intake Appointments

• $175–$200 depending on the clinician and needs

EMDR Intensives

EMDR intensives offer extended therapy sessions designed to support deeper trauma processing and focused therapeutic work in a shorter period of time.

• $200/hour
• 3-hour minimum required
• Not covered by insurance

EMDR intensives may be appropriate for clients seeking concentrated trauma work, accelerated progress, or support around specific life events and transitions.

ADHD & Autism Assessments 

We offer neurodivergent-affirming adult assessments for ADHD and autism.

Assessment Pricing

• ADHD Assessment: Starting at $995 (not covered by insurance)
• Autism Assessment: Starting at $1,295 (not covered by insurance)
• Combined ADHD + Autism Assessment: Starting at $1,495 (not covered by insurance)

*If you have Aetna or BCBS, you may choose to use your insurance for an intake only. This will give you a $200 discount off the total price.

Why Some Clients Choose Self-Pay 

Many clients intentionally choose self-pay therapy for:

Reduced-Rate Availability

Some clinicians reserve a limited number of reduced-rate appointments for clients experiencing financial hardship while clinician caseloads are still growing. Availability varies based on clinician demand and scheduling capacity.
