EMDR Intensives
Deep Healing in a Single Day
EMDR Intensives are extended trauma therapy sessions designed to help you process and resolve distressing memories more efficiently than traditional weekly therapy. These focused, 4–6 hour sessions are available in-person in my Greensboro office or via secure telehealth, depending on your preference.
As a certified EMDR therapist—and someone with lived experience navigating CPTSD and ADHD—I understand how frustrating it can be when therapy feels like it’s moving too slowly or when trauma work keeps getting interrupted by life’s daily stressors. That’s why EMDR Intensives can be so life-changing.
What Is an EMDR Intensive?
An EMDR Intensive is a full-day trauma processing session that condenses months of therapy into one powerful experience. We target multiple memories in one session and stay with the work until the disturbance level is brought down to zero or near-zero. This process can provide immediate relief to your nervous system from symptoms like hypervigilance, emotional flooding, and chronic overwhelm.
EMDR Intensives are particularly helpful for:
- Clients with complex trauma (CPTSD)
- People with ADHD who find it hard to stay on track in short sessions
- Those who feel “stuck” in weekly therapy
- Individuals who already have strong coping skills and are ready to reduce trauma reactivity
Why Choose an Intensive?
Weekly EMDR is powerful, but sometimes you need more time and space than insurance will pay for to stay with the work and fully process. EMDR Intensives allow us to:
- Go deeper without being interrupted by the clock
- Complete memory and target processing in one sitting
- Prevent the emotional fallout of partially processed trauma
- Shift from managing symptoms, which can be exhausting, to significantly reducing them
Investment
Cost:
- 4-6hour session: $800-$1200
- Assessment Session $200 (If you have BCBS or Aetna, your intake session may be covered and can be used to assess whether an intensive is a good fit)
Please note: Insurance does not cover EMDR Intensives, as they only reimburse for standard 60-minute therapy sessions. However, many clients find that investing in one intensive session saves them time, emotional energy, and the long-term cost of ongoing therapy.
Is an Intensive Right for You?
EMDR Intensives are ideal if:
- You already have a strong coping skill set
- You feel stable enough to explore deeper trauma work
- You’re ready for symptom reduction—not just symptom management
- You’re looking for a structured, supported space to finally move through what’s been keeping you stuck
