Neuro-Affirming EMDR Therapy for Adults in North Carolina

Do you feel like you’re just white-knuckling it through the day?

I work with adults navigating life’s multiple challenges. This includes college students, new parents, people maintaining substance use recovery, and those living with neurodivergence or chronic illness. Maybe you’re struggling to connect with yourself and others, or your trauma history is getting in the way of feeling safe in your body.

We start from square one by building safety together first. You are the expert on your own experience and we go at your pace.

Holistic, Body-Based Therapy Rooted in Safety and Connection

I offer an affirming approach that sees you as a whole person, not a diagnosis. Together, we’ll make space for the parts of you that have been carrying pain, overwhelm, or survival for a long time. We may explore the ways you’ve learned to disconnect or “numb out” just to get through the day, while building compassion and care for the parts of you that feel most vulnerable.

    What our work involves:

    • Prioritizing Security: We focus on your physical and emotional safety so you can feel steady.
    • Body-Based Direction: We listen to your body’s signals and explore your internal world.
    • Practical Tools: We use a tool-based experience that fits what you actually need in the moment.
    • Grounded Collaboration: We work to reconnect your physical self, your emotions, and your identity.

The goal is to move you out of everyday autopilot and back into a life where you feel present, clear, and safe in your own skin. Wherever you find yourself, I can guide you toward feeling at home with yourself again or finding that home for the first time.

    Lived Experience and Background

My work is deeply informed by my lived experience as a neurodivergent parent, LGBTQIA+ community member, and second-generation American of Hispanic heritage. I understand how identity, culture, trauma, burnout, and systemic stress can shape the way we move through the world and the ways we learn to protect ourselves.

For over four years, I’ve walked alongside people from many different backgrounds through community-based peer support, resilience coaching, counseling, and group work. My approach to trauma therapy is grounded in compassion, collaboration, and creating emotional safety before pushing into deeper healing work.

I know how difficult it can feel to retell your story or explain yourself over and over again. I’m not here to probe for details or force vulnerability before you’re ready. I’m here to sit with you in the messiness, build safety together, and help you reconnect with yourself at your own pace.
