    Aligned Therapists Wanted

Join a Neuro-affirming Practice Built for Sustainability

At Compassionate Voice Counseling & Consulting, we believe clinicians do their best work when they are supported, trusted, and allowed to practice authentically.

We are a neuro-affirming, trauma-treatment-focused group practice serving adults across North Carolina through telehealth and limited in-person services.

Our work focuses on the intersection of:

    • Neurodivergence (ADHD, Autism, AuDHD, “giftedness”, executive functioning differences, sensory differences, and high-masking presentations)

    • Trauma and complex trauma

    • Burnout, compassion fatigue, and nervous system overwhelm

We believe that neurodivergence is a naturally occurring form of human diversity rather than a disorder to be fixed. We strive to help clients understand themselves, reduce unnecessary masking, build sustainable lives, and heal from the impact of trauma, oppression, and chronic stress.

Many of our clinicians are neurodivergent themselves and bring both professional expertise and lived experience to their work.

    Who We Are

Compassionate Voice was built on the belief that excellent therapy requires both clinical skill and humanity. We strive to evolve services to be:

    • Neuro-affirming

    • Trauma-treatment trained (not just trauma-informed)

    • Anti-oppressive

    • Disability-affirming

    • Queer-celebrating

    • Collaborative

    • Focused on long-term sustainability rather than clinician burnout

While many of our clinicians have lived experience within LGBTQIA+ communities, we do not view queer identity as a diagnosis or problem to be treated. Instead, we strive to provide affirming, culturally responsive care that honors the realities of identity, community, resilience, and belonging.

    Who Thrives Here

We are always interested in connecting with clinicians who are strongly aligned with our values and approach to care.

Many of our clinicians are neurodivergent themselves, and we strive to create a practice culture that is supportive not only of neurodivergent clients, but also neurodivergent clinicians. We recognize that excellent therapists do not all communicate, socialize, organize, process information, or build relationships in the same way.

Rather than expecting clinicians to mask heavily or fit into a traditional corporate culture, we focus on clear communication, transparency, accountability, and collaborative problem-solving. We value authenticity, curiosity, professionalism, and mutual respect.

The clinicians who tend to thrive here are those who:

    • Are strongly aligned with neuro-affirming principles

    • Enjoy working with neurodivergent adult clients and colleagues

    • Have training in a trauma-focused modality

    • Value flexibility, boundaries, autonomy, and collaboration

    • Appreciate direct communication and clear expectations

    • Are interested in continued professional growth

    • Committed to anti-oppressive work

    • Want to contribute to a supportive and evolving practice culture

    • Appreciate a transparent W2 based pay structure

While we are not hiring for a specific role at this time, we are always interested in meeting clinicians who feel strongly aligned with our mission and values. If we believe there may be a good mutual fit, qualified applicants may be invited to interview with all members of our clinical team to assure a good fit.

    Trauma-Focused Training Required

All clinicians must have training in a trauma-processing modality or a clear plan to promptly obtain training.

    Examples include:

    • EMDR

    • Brainspotting

    • Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)

    • Somatic therapies

    • Other trauma-focused approaches

The specific modality is less important than the clinician’s ability to practice in a neuro-affirming way and reduce trauma symptoms with an effective modality.

We are particularly interested in clinicians who can adapt treatment to the individual’s neurotype, sensory needs, communication style, executive functioning needs, and lived experience rather than expecting clients to fit into a rigid treatment protocol.

    Neuro-affirming Assessment Opportunities

Compassionate Voice provides neuro-affirming ADHD and Autism assessments for adults.

Clinicians joining our team will have opportunities to receive mentorship and training in:

    • Adult ADHD & Autism assessment

    • Neuroaffirming report writing

    • Accommodation recommendations

    • Assessment feedback sessions

Clinical Interests We Are Especially Excited About

We welcome a variety of specialties. However, we are especially interested in clinicians with experience or strong interest in:

    • ADHD/Autism/AuDHD

    • Complex trauma

    • Identity Development

    • Dissociation

    • Burnout & Compassion fatigue

    • Chronic illness and chronic pain

    • EDS, Hypermobility, Dysautonomia, POTS, and MCAS

    • PMDD, PCOS, perimenopause, menopause, HRT, and hormone-related concerns

    • Neurodivergent relationships and couples

These areas are frequently underserved and often overlap significantly with neurodivergence, trauma, and burnout.

    Compensation Transparency

We believe clinicians deserve transparency regarding compensation.

Current reimbursement rates are 50–60% (depending on experience)

Rates typically charged to client range between $138–$172 per clinical therapy hour.

We currently credential with Blue Cross Blue Shield and Aetna with Ambetter Pending

Clinicians joining from other practices should be aware that clients using other insurance plans may need to transition to self-pay or seek alternative coverage.

Clinicians participating in assessment services receive the same percentage-based compensation structure as therapy services. Depending on the assessment type and compensation tier, assessment work typically pays approximately $83–$145 per hour depending on efficiency at completion of high-quality neuro-affirming assessment reports.

    Benefits

Clinicians who consistently maintain a caseload of 25+ clients per week (30 working hours a week) may qualify for a 50% employer contribution toward our Gold Blue Cross Blue Shield health insurance plan that includes a mental health co-pay of $25 per session. We believe in supporting clinician mental health.

Clinicians who maintain a consistent caseload of approximately 15–20 clients per week may be eligible for an ACA healthcare stipend, typically ranging from $100–$200 per month.

Required administrative tasks and 1 weekly team meeting is paid at $20hr.

Benefit eligibility is based on demonstrated caseload stability. Benefits are reviewed and optimized annually based on practice growth, client demand, and clinician sustainability.

    Additional benefits include:

    • Psychology Today profile paid by the practice

    • SEO and online marketing support

    • Optional basic laptop for telehealth services, if needed

    • No cost for LCSWA Supervision or EMDR Consultation

    • High quality paperless Electronic Health Records System w/ excellent customer service (its TherapyNotes)

    • Collaborative case support

    • CE opportunities aligned with practice values, including neuro-affirming, trauma-focused, and assessment-related professional development

    • Accommodation requests encouraged and always considered

    Building a Sustainable Caseload

We provide significant support with marketing, SEO, online directories, referral development, community networking, and practice visibility. However, as with any private practice environment, clinicians should expect to play an active role in building and maintaining their caseload.

We view caseload development as a collaborative process rather than an individual responsibility. Clinicians can expect transparency, mentorship, and ongoing support as they develop their niche, strengthen referral relationships, and build a sustainable practice that aligns with their interests and strengths.

    Telehealth First

We are primarily a telehealth practice.

Many of our clinicians and clients appreciate a quieter, more flexible environment that allows for greater autonomy, accessibility, and reduced pressure to perform traditional professional norms that may not fit every neurotype.

Our primary office is located in Greensboro, North Carolina.

For clinicians who are strongly aligned with our mission and demonstrate long-term commitment to the practice, we may be open to supporting office space in additional North Carolina communities following a successful telehealth onboarding period.

    Why Clinicians Stay

    Our clinicians value:

    • Flexibility

    • Clinical autonomy

    • Collaborative consultation

    • Neuro-affirming practice culture

    • Respect for work-life balance

    • Opportunities for professional growth

We are intentionally building a practice where clinicians can do meaningful work without sacrificing themselves in the process.

    Interested?

We would love to hear from clinicians who are excited about neuro-affirming and identity-affirming trauma work, burnout recovery, and helping create a practice culture where both clients and clinicians can decolonize and thrive.

If Compassionate Voice sounds like a place where your values, clinical interests, and professional goals align, we encourage you to send us a cover letter and resume. We are always interested in meeting clinicians who may be a strong fit for our team, even when we are not actively hiring for a specific position.
